Lunch and Learn event slated for Friday in Canfield

CANFIELD — The Mahoning County Farm Bureau, Ohio State University Extension Office, and Deerfield Farms are sponsoring a “Lunch and Learn” event on Friday at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana Canfield Road.

The event begins with registration and social time at 11:30 a.m., with a cost of $5 for lunch at the door. Lunch will be served at 11:50.

The program will include an overall farm bill and dairy updates with Dianne Shoemaker and Eric Barrett; a Farm Security Administration update on programs and deadlines with Jill Ritchie; an update on fertilizer legislation in Ohio with Ty Kellogg and Barrett; and Barrett will speak on grants and low-interest loan opportunities for farms.
