Mahoning juvenile facility among 5 in Ohio accredited

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Juvenile Detention Center recently received its third American Correctional Association accreditation.

Having scored 99 percent in the ACA’s review, the local detention center is among only five Ohio juvenile lockups to receive the accreditation.

The three-year certification means the 1979-vintage facility meets ACA standards for staffing, safety, financial controls, management and discipline.
