Ribbon-cutting for new Midlothian firehouse Wednesday

YOUNGSTOWN

City officials will cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the new $930,000 Fire Station 9 at Ipe Field, 1624 E. Midlothian Blvd., at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The new station, which replaces the one at Midlothian Boulevard and Sheridan Road, is strategically located near Interstate 680 to allow a fast response to a fire anywhere in the city.

One of the new station’s trucks will be staffed at all times, and another truck based there will be used as a reserve vehicle in case of multiple alarms.
