New Castle police seek help in locating driver who killed pedestrian


NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Shenango Township Police are seeking the public’s help in their investigation of a Friday evening hit-skip crash that killed a pedestrian.

A Lawrence County deputy coroner pronounced Charles Bobro, 55, of New Castle, dead at the scene of the 10:30 p.m. incident on New Butler Road near state Route 388.

Bobro was walking east near a Red Apple gas station, and police said they believe the vehicle that hit him fled west into New Castle.

Police said they have no description of the vehicle, but are reviewing security camera systems at nearby businesses that may have recorded the incident.
