New Castle man dies from house fire

NEW CASTLE, PA. (AP)

Authorities here say a man died from a house fire Thursday night.

Fire officials in Lawrence County say the blaze was reported at about 11 p.m.

Tom Bulisco, assistant fire chief, said the blaze broke out on the second floor of the two-story home.

Crews found heavy flames in the front room and a lot of smoke, he said.

Firefighters got Lewis E. Sheffield, 61, out of an upstairs bedroom and rushed him to Jameson Hospital, where was pronounced dead shortly after 11:30 p.m. An autopsy is planned. The cause has been ruled accidental.
