Police are investigating the city’s fifth homicide of the year, that of a 33-year-old woman who was killed in a North Side home.

When police arrived at the Tod Lane home early Saturday, they were met at the door by a woman, crying, “She’s been shot, hurry!” the police report says. Vindicator news partner 21 WFMJ-TV identified the victim as Shannon Strosnider and reported that police have identified Prince Jennings as a suspect.

Police found Strosnider lying on her stomach, on her bed with a gunshot wound to her left calf area. She was unresponsive. Witnesses told police the victim suffered from a heart condition.

Two people in the home told police they were asleep when they awoke to the sound of four pops and a flash of light. They went to investigate the source of the sound, finding bullet holes in the front door and Strosnider wounded and unresponsive.

No one answered the door at the home Sunday evening.

Fatal vehicle crash

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP

The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a Saturday afternoon crash that killed a 23-year-old East Liverpool woman.

Gwen A. Blake was driving a van along U.S. Route 30 about 12:30 p.m. when she lost control and the van went off the road and struck the center concrete wall, according to a news release. The van then traveled back across the road, striking a ditch before overturning and ejecting Blake. She was flown to UPMC Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Blake wasn’t wearing a seat belt, the OSHP said.

The passengers in the van — Matthew D. Randolph, 23, Alexandria A. Randolph, 4, Aubrey L. Randolph, 2, and Harmony S. Randolph, 1, all of East Liverpool — were treated at East Liverpool Hospital. They were wearing seat belts and were in child- safety seats.
