Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, blood pressure checks, beginner computer class and trip to Akron outlets at 9, bingo and painting class at 10, beginner computer class at 10:30, senior spinning at 11 and advanced computer class and lunch at noon; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., understanding investments video class at 9, bingo and senior spinning at 10, quilting class at 10:30, Zumba at 11, chair yoga at noon and lunch at 12:30 p.m.; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and introduction to genealogy video class at 9, bingo at 10, Fountain of Youth fitness at 11, Drums Alive and pizza party ($3) at noon and movie matinee at 12:30 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and Italy travelogue at 9, chair yoga and SOS at 9:30, and intermediate crocheting class, knitting class and vets helping vets at 10 (center is closing at noon); and Friday, closed for the holiday. Gathering Place will take place at 11 a.m. July 14 at Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield. The program will start at 11:30 and will include an ice cream social, gentle exercises and board games or cards. Lunch will be served with an optional donation. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at Perkins Restaurant, 1953 Niles-Cortland Road SE. Angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull-County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors, such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Trumbull County Senior Court AARP Driver Safety Program will offer a certified instructor to review driving skills and techniques and strategies for seniors to help them adjust to physical changes, which could affect driving abilities. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Classes will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 8 at Girard Multigenerational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., or from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 29 at Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E.
