YOUNGSTOWN

Mark T. Jackson and Final Call will be featured in a free homecoming benefit concert, “Calling All Worshipers,” at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Heavenly Place Church, 1350 Katherine St., where his father, John W. Jackson, is pastor.

Jackson, a native of the Mahoning Valley, studied at Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, where he also earned a master’s in education administration. He was a teacher for six years at Eagle Heights Academy. He was minister of music at Greater Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ in Akron for 15 years. Jackson completed a master of theology at Ashland Theological Seminary. He has most recently completed a master’s of theology degree.

The Society of St. John Chrysostom, Youngstown Warren Chapter, will present “The Divine Liturgy as an Expression of Our Faith” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3560 Logan Way.

Speaker will be the Rev. Canon Ignatius Kury, pastor of St. Anne Ukrainian Church in Austintown.

The Society of St. John Chrysostom is an ecumenical organization of Catholic and Orthodox clergy and laity, working to make known the history, worship, spirituality, discipline and theology of eastern Christendom.
