Four laptops stolen from technical school in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN

A technical school was robbed of four laptops sometime this month.

According to a police report, ITT Technical School, North Meridian Road, discovered the laptops missing Thursday from a storage room.

The four Dell Inspirons are valued at $1,300.

A school official said they received 18 laptops on June 16 and put them in the locked storage room. The official noticed a crack in one of the locked service windows on Tuesday but didn't think much of it at the time, the report said.

When the laptops were discovered missing Thursday, it was discovered that someone had pried open the service windows enough to unlock them and left a scratch on one and a crack on the other window.

The laptops were taken and a counter inside appeared to be wiped down. Cleaning personnel are not allowed in the area, the report said.
