Austintown teacher fired by board

AUSTINTOWN — In a special meeting this morning, the Autintown Board of Education took the final step in firing a teacher alleged to have had an inappropriate relationship with five female students at Fitch High School.

John Dietz, a social studies teacher, was “terminated for good and just cause” this morning effective June 27.

Capt. Bryan Kloss of Austintown Police has said the criminal investigation into Dietz was closed with no charges. Police had searched his school computer during their investigation.
