Local NAACP Youth Council plans trip
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
The local NAACP Youth Council is planning a trip to Detroit on Aug. 15 that will include visits to Detroit’s Charles H. Wright African American Museum, Motown Records, and the African World Festival.
The cost of the trip is $55 for adults and $50 for youths, which covers transportation and entrance fees.
The Youth Council is seeking donations to pay for snacks, so that the group can directly go to their first destination without stopping for breakfast. A monetary donation of $10 will cover snacks for about 1.5 people; the group also will accept snack items such as fruit, chips, breakfast bars, fruit snacks and drinks.
The Youth Council will work with anyone who wishes to donate, and is willing to travel to a home, office or other convenient location to pick up donated items. For monetary donations, make a check payable to Youngstown NAACP Youth Council No. 3806, 16 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44503, and please reference the Detroit trip on the memo line.
