Two women were arraigned in municipal court Monday for assaults against other women in separate incidents about the same time Sunday.

Diamond Lee, 21, was arraigned on charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary in an incident at her Ohio Avenue apartment building Sunday, which jail records say was her birthday. She was given a bond of $35,000 by Magistrate Anthony Sertick.

Police were called to the building in the 800 block of Ohio Avenue about 9:30 p.m. for a report of a woman cut with a knife. When they arrived, they found a woman inside an apartment with chemical spray on her face and a cut on her arm.

The woman told police Lee was upset with her because the victim had complained to the landlord about loud music Lee was playing. The victim said Lee knocked on her door, forced her way in, sprayed her in the face with the chemical spray and cut her with a knife.

There was a man inside the apartment with the woman but he would not cooperate with police, reports said.

Police then went to Lee’s apartment, where she told them she argued with the victim over the music, and the victim came to her apartment and slammed a door. Reports said Lee told officers she went to the victim’s apartment with the can of chemical spray. She then was arrested.

About 9:45 p.m. on the South Side, police arrested Miquaysha Hamlett, 20, of Parkcliffe Avenue on charges of receiving stolen property and felonious assault. She was given a $25,000 bond by Magistrate Sertick.

Reports say a woman called police to say Hamlett stole her car earlier in the day, and she went to look for it and spotted it at Parkcliffe Avenue near Hudson Avenue and that Hamlett tried to run her over.

The woman said she then got a ride from another person, and they chased her car, and Hamlett rammed that car before driving away. The woman later found her car on Rosedale Avenue, reports said.

Reports did not say where Hamlett was taken into custody.

Should Hamlett post bond, she is barred from having any contact with the victim.
