4 indicted in string of northeast Ohio robberies

CLEVELAND (AP) — Four people have been indicted in a string of 19 armed robberies reported in the Cleveland area between May 2013 and March 2014, officials said.

The four defendants, all from Cleveland, robbed bars, restaurants, pharmacies and stores in Cleveland and three of its suburbs. Gunshots were fired in seven of the robberies, though no injuries were reported, said Joe Frolik, a spokesman for the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office.

The indictment charged all four with aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

The alleged ringleader, Johnnie Harris, 21, was charged with a total of 107 counts and participated in all of the robberies, Frolik said. The other three, including Harris’ 33-year-old sister, Sharina, were involved in some of the robberies. She was charged with 18 counts. Qwayvon Marshall, 24, was charged with 18 counts and Devon Johnson, 21, was charged with 20 counts.

All of the suspects are in jail. Their attorneys declined to comment Monday.
