Fans line up early for Rod Stewart tickets

YOUNGSTOWN — At least 40 people were lined up in front of Covelli Centre this morning, waiting for the box office to open at 10 a.m. to purchase tickets for the Rod Stewart concert Aug. 24.

Shirley Matyi and Diane Sharp, both of Austintown, were the first in line. The two arrived about 2 a.m. but left and returned at 6 a.m. Others started to show up at around 6:30 a.m., Matyi said.

Kelsey Ruper, the center's marketing director, said just before noon that sales were strong but great seats are still available.
