Car break-ins reported at two Boardman locations


BOARDMAN — Township police are investigating reports of multiple car break-ins Monday night at the Davis YMCA on McClurg Road and at the township park.

Authorities were called to the Davis YMCA at 6:35 p.m. for reports of several thefts from cars.

All the vehicles were entered by breaking one of the vehicle’s side windows. Four purses and one tote bag were stolen and five windows were damaged.

Police came to the park at 375 Boardman-Poland Road at 7:05 p.m. to investigate thefts from cars.

One car was left unlocked while the other cars had damaged windows. According to a report, the items stolen were two purses, credit cards, cash, and prescription drugs. The total value of items stolen and broken windows was listed as $2,845.

Two cars had windows broken out, but nothing was reported missing from those vehicles. A fourth car had its front drivers’ side window broken out and a purse stolen.
