Juniors champ Pikunas wins Hudson Junior Invitational

Eased by a round of 4-under par 68 on day two, Boardman's Jacinta Pikunas cruised to the biggest tournament win of her young career on Thursday by winning the Hudson Junior Invitational.

Pikunas, who just finished her freshman year at Boardman High School, shot 74-68-74 at The Country Club of Hudson for a score of even-par for the tournament.

The result comes just days after she qualified for The Vindicator Greatest Golfer of the Valley junior championship.

Pikunas tied for eighth place in the girls Division I state golf tournament at The Ohio State University Gray Course as a freshman.
