Changes show progress on new Tiffany Square

BOARDMAN
A newly opened Fin, Feather and Fur Outfitters and the relocation of a major hobby store and fast-food chains are just some of the changes at Tiffany Square in Boardman that already are starting to take shape.
“We didn’t want to act too fast,” said Bill Kutlick of Kutlick Realty LLC. “It’s not a fast process.”
Sitting next to the busiest intersection in Mahoning County, with access to U.S. Route 224 and South Avenue, is one reason the national chains are moving into the plaza.
The site of the now-closed Value City soon will be home to Hobby Lobby after the major hobby store decided to relocate this year from its current site farther into Boardman on U.S. Route 224.
McDonald’s will be moving down from its current location in the plaza, and Chick-fil-A, which now is operating across the street from Tiffany, will replace the McDonald’s with a new, double drive-through location equipped with patio seating and a new play area.
The outdoor-supplies store Fin, Feather and Fur opened in April operating as the brand’s largest satellite store with 30,000 square feet of floor space.
The hunting, camping and clothing retailer has two other satellite stores in Middleburg Heights and Canton.
Tiffany Square “is ground zero for retail,” Kutlick said.
In addition to the new retail fronts, there also have been improvements in the appearance of the square with updates to the roof, landscaping and lights.
A new sidewalk also is in the plans.
National Tire and Battery on the end of Tiffany Square also will be moving. Attempts to reach corporate communications for NTB about the move were unsuccessful.
“It gets back to tenant mix,” Kutlick said. “We are dealing with multiple national restaurants to replace NTB.”
There are 42,000 square feet to work with, which Kutlick said could mean two to three new retail fronts in the plaza.
