Charged with burglary
CAMPBELL
A 30-year-old Porter Avenue man will appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. today on a second-degree felony charge of burglary.
About 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of Peters Drive after receiving a report of an unknown man, later identified as Patrick J. Connelly, entering the residence. Police found Connelly standing in the home’s driveway, where he told police he was “looking for his friend.” According to the police report, Connelly appeared confused as he was being arrested, told police he wanted to meet the president and asked why he was still at a trade school. Nothing was taken from the home.
Connelly was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he was evaluated for a possible drug overdose.
Kids found home alone
CAMPBELL
Police arrested a 30-year-old Oxford Street woman on a charge of endangering children after discovering her five children — age 3 to 12 — were home alone with the oldest in charge while she was at “some bar,” according to one of her kids. Officers were alerted to the situation after receiving a 911 hangup call from the home shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday. While police were talking with the children, who said they’d accidentally dialed 911, their grandmother arrived at the home, telling police “she just had a feeling” the kids were home alone, according to the report. The mother, Jasmine Flores, then came home and claimed her aunt was supposed to be watching the kids, but she left for work without checking to see if they were being supervised. Flores was arrested and is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The kids were left in their grandmother’s care.

Humanitarian airlift
VIENNA
Air Force Reservists from the 910th Airlift Wing’s 76th Aerial Port Squadron at Youngstown Air Reserve Station finished loading a C-5 Galaxy transport aircraft early today for a humanitarian airlift to Guatemala.
The cargo of medical equipment, furniture, clothing and other items eventually will serve a pediatric hospital being built by the Austintown-based Mission of Love charity. The cargo is being shipped via the Denton program, which allows private U.S. citizens and organizations to use space available on U.S. military cargo planes to transport humanitarian goods to countries in need. The program is jointly administered by a government agency known as USAID and the departments of state and defense.
Trumbull Dems
WARREN
Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka was re-elected to his second term as chairman of the Trumbull County Democratic Party on Thursday, and Kathy DiCristofaro was elected vice chairwoman.
DiCristofaro’s selection resulted from the Ohio Democratic Party rule this year that a female occupy one of the top two positions in each county party. DiCristofaro, who was party secretary, switched positions with Niles Mayor Ralph Infante, who was elected party secretary. Other officers are Mike Villano, treasurer; Judi Toles, recording secretary; Chris Becker, parliamentarian; and Allen L. Briggs, sergeant at arms.
