The Youngstown All Breed Training Club will have an open house and leash-cutting ceremony for its new training facility, 13210 Mahoning Ave., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The club was formed in 1953 to educate dog owners in the care and discipline of their dogs and to provide facilities and opportunities for training. YABTC instructs individuals in dog training at all levels, whether the goal is a household companion or a dog-sport competitor.

Saturday’s event will include demonstrations of agility, conformation, obedience, rally, and fly ball, a “Meet the Breeds” event and more.

The YABTC has more than 200 members from throughout the area, and they instruct more than 1,000 students per year. The group is an all-volunteer organization with no paid positions. The club is licensed by the American Kennel Club and affiliated with the local 4H.
