Former McDonald standout wins NCAA hammer throw
EUGENE, ORE. McDonald High graduate and current Kent State thrower Matthias Tayala won the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Thursday.
Tayala, a junior, had a winning throw of 73.57 meters (241 feet, 4 inches).
Youngstown State sophomore Connor Neu finished 15th in the hammer throw with a toss of 63.61 meters (208-8).
