Campbell woman charged with endangering children
CAMPBELL
Police arrested a 30-year-old Oxford Street woman on a charge of endangering children after discovering that her five children — who range in age from 3 to 12 years old — were home alone, with the oldest child in charge, while she allegedly was at "some bar," one of her children said.
Officers were alerted to the situation after receiving a 911 hangup call from the home shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday. While police were talking with the children, who said they'd accidentally dialed 911, the grandmother of the children arrived at the residence, telling police "she just had a feeling that the children were home alone," according to the report. The mother - Jasmine Flores - then came home; she claimed that her aunt was supposed to be watching the children, but that she left for work without checking if the children were being supervised.
Flores was arrested and is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The children were left in their grandmother's care.
