Campbell man arrested on burglary charge

CAMPBELL

A 30-year-old Porter Avenue man will appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday on a burglary charge - a second-degree felony.

At about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of Peters Drive after receiving a report of an unknown man - later identified as Patrick J. Connelly - entering the residence. Police found Connelly standing in the home's driveway, where he told police he was "looking for his friend." According to the police report, Connelly appeared confused while being arrested, as he told police he wanted to meet the president and asked why he was still at a trade school. Nothing was taken from the home.

Connelly was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he was evaluated for a possible drug overdose. He had fresh needle marks all over his arms and seemed to be in an intoxicated state.
