Arrests follow robbery at Boardman Subway

Officers responded to an armed robbery at Subway this morning and made three arrests.

Authorities were called to Subway, 5205 Market St. next door to Family Video, at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday.

A man robbed the sandwich shop at gunpoint and fled to the next-door motel, Town and Country Motel.

Officers found out that he was in room 114 and wasn't responding to officers' knocks at the door, according to Capt. Don Lamping.

He said the robber eventually talked to officers on the phone and surrendered.

Police also arrested a man and a female that had active warrants who watched the commotion.

Officials from Subway declined comment.
