The phone system at Youngstown’s city hall and police building went down
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
The problem that caused the telephone system to shut down at city hall and the police building apparently has been resolved.
The phone systems at the downtown buildings failed May 30 with AT&T able to make repairs that day, but it occurred again Friday afternoon.
AT&T technicians and city workers tried to resolve the problem Friday as well as a portion of Saturday, believing the issue was fixed, Mayor John A. McNally said.
But the phone system went down again Monday morning and was fixed about 2:30 p.m. that day.
This time it appears the issue is resolved.
The problem turned out to be caused by an issue with AT&T’s hardware system in the basement of city hall, McNally said.
