Hot Topix plans open mic, book talk

Hot Topix Productions has two events planned this month:

The first will be a Nite of Arts open-mic night at 8:30 p.m. June 19 at Imbibe Martini Bar, 124 W. Federal St., downtown Youngstown. Admission is $7 (or two for $10). Participants are welcome in spoken word or poetry, singing, dancing, instrumentalists, mime and other art forms.

On June 29, there will be a Hot Topix Book Club discussion of “The Conversation” by Hill Harper, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Excalibur Barber Grooming Lounge in Southern Park Mall, Boardman.

Festival of arts seeks vendors

CONNEAUT LAKE, PA.

Vendors are being sought for the Festival of the Arts, July 18-19 at Hotel Conneaut, Conneaut Lake Park.

A book sale to benefit the Canfield Library construction project will be June 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lawn of the Library, 43 W. Main St. Donated books will be accepted from the public from 8 to 9 a.m. the morning of the sale. Textbooks, outdated technical or medical books and encyclopedias will not be accepted.
