YOUNGSTOWN

Police reports say a man who backed into a Jean Street home Friday evening was nearly four times over the legal limit for driving drunk and had a child on his lap whose hands were on the steering wheel.

Police were called to a home in the 3900 block of Jean Street about 9 p.m. Friday and found a car that had backed into a house. Reports said the owner of the car, Ronald Essail Cash, 38, had a juvenile on his lap when the car backed out of the drive of a neighboring home, hit a curb and hit the house.

The juvenile also had hands on the steering wheel, reports said.

Reports said Cash smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred, and there were several empty beer cans in his vehicle.

Cash was taken to the police station where he agreed to take a breath test and registered a blood alcohol level of .303, reports said. In Ohio, the legal limit for driving drunk is .08.

Cash was released after being issued citations for improper backing and driving under the influence.

Police dealt with another driving issue about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when they found a motorcycle driven by Curtis Richardson, 51, of Liberty, lying on the street on Belmont Avenue near Granada Avenue. Richardson told police he hit a curb and fell off the motorcycle.

A records check showed Richardson has no driver’s license and has a failure to appear warrant from municipal court for a case in 2009. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be treated for injuries and booked into the Mahoning County jail on the warrant and a charge of having no operator’s license.

Police also arrested two people and cited two others on drug charges over the weekend. About 5:36 p.m. Sunday, Paul Black Jr., 47, of Youngstown was arrested on a charge of possession of drugs/cocaine after officers found a rock of crack cocaine on him after he was pulled over for making an improper turn at Goleta Avenue and Gypsy Lane.

At 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Nicholas Gianfranceso, 24, of Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of possession of drugs after he was seen at Glenwood and Ravenwood avenues driving a car that had plates that did not match. Officers found a crack pipe when they searched him, and when he was taken to the jail, a bag of pills and crack cocaine fell out of his rectum when he was searched, reports said.

About 12:27 a.m. Sunday, Eduardo Piaz, 24, of Campbell, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving under suspension after he was pulled over at Ayers Street and Wilson Avenue for having no taillights. A small bag of marijuana was found under a sweatshirt in his car, reports said.

About 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Desmond Clark, 32, of Youngstown, was charged with possession of drugs/marijuana. Reports say he was a passenger in a car that was pulled over about 9:10 p.m. at East Avondale and Cottage Grove avenues for an improper turn and he admitted having a bag of marijuana. The driver was given a verbal warning, reports said.

Just before midnight Friday, Rayshawanda Clark, 23, was charged with endangering children after police broke up a party with more than 100 people inside her home in the 400 block of East LaClede Avenue. Reports said police were called for a large party and saw about 75 people outside, and there were about 100 people inside. Officers also could smell marijuana coming from the home, reports said.

Reports said Clark told officers she allowed her cousin to throw a party because it was the last day of school. She was cited because of the large number of juveniles at the party, reports said.
