Miller appointed executive director of Mahoning Dems

BOARDMAN — Mahoning County Democratic Party Chairman David Betras appointed Kathryn Ann Miller of Austintown to be the party’s executive director.

In the position, Miller is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and execution of party activities including staging events, working with local candidates, elected officials and the members of the central and executive committees, operating the party’s Hillman Way office in Boardman, and serving as a liaison with the Ohio Democratic Party, statewide and national campaigns, and the Democratic National Committee.

“Kathryn’s job is to ensure that we do whatever is necessary to deliver the votes that will put Democrats over the top in 2014, 2016, and 2018,” Betras said. “I’m confident that she has the skill, ability, energy, and commitment required to do exactly that.”

Miller is a member of the party’s central and executive committees, treasurer and campaign coordinator for county Treasurer Dan Yemma, and district leader for Austintown.

“I know we face a number of difficult challenges, but I’m confident we will not only meet but exceed the expectations set for us locally, in Columbus, and in Washington, D.C.” Miller said.
