Iron industry talk scheduled

At 7 p.m. June 18, The Niles Historical Society will feature Clayton Ruminski, who will talk about the history and transformation of Niles’ iron industry, which began in 1809 and fell in the early 20th century.
The program will take place in the “Westenfield Room” at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St. The title is “Ohio’s Smoky City: The Iron Industry in Niles, its Transformation and the Rise of Steel.” The public is welcome to attend.
