How can US create more jobs? Simply kill 2 trade agreements
Here we go again. It’s elec- tion time, and all the congressional candidates are talking about how they are going to create jobs.
The Republicans are talking how they want to eliminate the health-care law. If it is so wrong, why did the Republican Party mark it up and send to the Democratic Senate and then to be signed by a Democratic president?
As far as jobs go, the Clinton administration gave us the North American Free Trade Agreement, and jobs started to go to Mexico. Then came a similar world trade agreement and we started losing more jobs to overseas.
I have yet to hear one candidate say they will eliminate these agreements. That will bring more jobs back to the U.S. But they won’t do that for they will lose their contributions from business.
As I said in a previous letter, the main threat to the U.S. is in Washington, D.C.

We would do well to draft Dr. Ben Carson for president
For those of you who do not know of Dr. Ben Carson, he is a renowned neurosurgeon and was director of pediatric surgery at the highly acclaimed Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He has retired and has gone on the speaking circuit to bring focus to some of our country’s most pressing issues.
Dr. and Mrs. Carson together founded the Carson Scholars Fund that has sent tens of thousands of high-achieving high school students on to higher education.
He is a gifted, articulate speaker and author of the New York Times’ best-seller “Gifted Hands” plus several others, two of which , “America the Beautiful” and “One Nation,” I have read. Halfway through the first, “America the Beautiful,” I said to myself, “I could vote for this man for president.”
Others also thought so as John Philip Sousa IV, great-great-grandson of the patriot song writer/composer, by the same name, has started a campaign to draft Ben Carson for president, “Run Ben Run.” I hope Dr. Carson does, as his independent thinking of our country’s ills and, more importantly, his solutions are what this country needs.
