Cruise will include turtle derby

LOWELLVILLE

Members of Youngstown Lions Club are planning the 53rd Annual Turtle Derby on June 23 during the Cruising the River car show from 5 to 8 p.m. at the gazebo in downtown Lowellville.

The races begin at 6 p.m.

There will be music, a basket raffle, kids’ games, food and more.

Funds raised will be used to help people in need. Those who have benefited include Beatitude House, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Easter Seals, Fish Samaritan House, Goodwill Eyeglass Program, Habitat for Humanity, Help Hotline, Make a Wish Foundation, Needles Eye, Rescue Mission, Rich Center for Autism, Salvation Army, Second Harvest Food Bank, Sojourner House and St. Vincent de Paul. In case of rain the event will be postponed to June 30.
