Campbell police arrest Youngstown woman on resisting charge

CAMPBELL

A 22-year-old Youngstown woman was arrested early Sunday during a traffic stop on 16th Street on charges of obstructing official business, resisting arrest and having an open container.

Whitney C. Scroggins will answer to those charges at 9 a.m. Friday in Campbell Municipal Court.

Police stopped the car in which Scroggins was a passenger shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday for failing to signal a turn. During the stop, Scroggins became irate and did not obey officers' commands; in particular, she refused to get out of the car so police could search it. She eventually was arrested, and police found a partially full open container of alcohol in her purse.

Scroggins was released on her own recognizance and issued a court date of Friday.
