YWCA art show will open

YOUNGSTOWN
The YWCA of Youngstown’s 32nd annual art exhibition “Women Artists: A Celebration!” will open June 21, and will feature 146 pieces by 68 artists, including paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures, fiber works and ceramics.
A preview party, at which approximately $1,000 in merit prizes will be presented, will take place at 7 p.m. June 21. The YWCA is at 25 W. Rayen Ave.
The free exhibit will be open for viewing from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday until July 18, including at Youngstown State University’s Summer Festival of the Arts. It will be closed July 4 and 5, but will be open July 13.
Edie Davidson, art department leader at Boardman High School and an instructor at YSU, was the juror of the show.
Cheryl Deibel and Kathryn Infante are co-chairwomen.
Two special events will take place at the exhibit.
On June 26, David Shapira, a pianist from Niles, will perform from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the exhibit, which will be open.
On July 10, Brenda Myers Cohen, an artist from Girard, will conduct a collage workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
