Triplett and his child on TV

Singer J TRIP (aka Youngs-town native Joshua Triplett) advanced to the final round before losing on Wednesday’s episode of the singing competition show “Copycat.”

He sang “Marry Me” by Jason Derulo.

On the show, singers perform a popular song in the same way as the original version, while remaining unseen to the judges.

Two finalists then compete for a $5,000 prize at the end of each show.

J TRIP received a score of 8.3 in the first round, but a 5.4 in the final round and narrowly lost.

He did receive a standing ovation from the audience.

His 3-year-old daughter, Jaidyn Triplett, will appear on the new ABC show “Bet On Your Baby” on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Jaidyn will do a series of games and her parents, who will also be on the show, will bet to see how well they know their child.

The winner receives $50,000.

Jaidyn, who was born at North Side Hospital in Youngstown, lives in California with her parents.

The child also is appearing in television commercials with her father.
