Man faces deportation after arrest for OVI in Boardman

BOARDMAN — An arrest of a man for operating a vehicle while impaired has led to his likely deportation to Mexico.

Township police said Marco Cortez Maldonado of Alabama is charged with OVI, driving without a license, and having expired plates, all misdemeanor offenses.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement later confirmed Maldonado’s visa had expired and he had re-entered the country illegally. ICE said this would require his deportation to Mexico, according to a police report.
