Former Austintown woman dies in crash near Columbus

A former Austintown woman died and her husband and another man were severely injured Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash in Pickerington, police there said.

Margaret “Nana” Corbett, 82, died at OhioHealth Grant Medical, and her husband, Donald Corbett Sr., 79, is in stable condition today at the medical facility.

They are the parents of Don Corbett Jr., a former Austintown police officer.

Pickerington police hadn’t released the name of the 19-year-old also injured and in stable condition at the hospital.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, The crash occurred about 4:45 p.m., when the Corbett’s car was traveling north in the 8800 block of Diley Road. The southbound pickup truck crossed the center line and struck the car, said Sgt. Robert Bartek of the Pickerington police.

Pickerington is near Columbus. The police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating.
