Celebrate Poland to be in June

Celebrate Poland will take place June 27 and 28.

This celebration is sponsored by donations and any amount is appreciated. Donations can be mailed to Celebrate Poland, PO Box 14585, Poland, Ohio 44514.

Poland Idol is looking for contestants. There is a $20 fee and there are four different age groups; kindergarten through fourth grade, fifth- through eighth-grade, high school and adults. There are prizes for the top three in each category and the judges are professionals in the music field. Contact 330-651-2999 for an entry form. There will also be a craft show, which is currently looking for vendors. Tables are $30. Contact Barbara Banks at 330-757-4584 for more information.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on June 27. If you would like to be in the parade, email pfdlady@yahoo.com. The Strawberry Festival will be at the Presbyterian Church again this year. The Poland Alumni Community Band and Sound Bites will be performing. There will be a bounce around and putt putt for vendors.

On June 28, Chalk It Up will take place in the morning. There will also be a duck race, touch-a-truck, a petting zoo, karaoke and fireworks. Poland Idol registration starts at 10:30, but pre-registration is preferred by calling Cindy at 330-651-2999. Shuttles from the Methodist Church and the high school will be available.
