Boardman business vandalized

BOARDMAN — Vandals caused major damage to a local company's excavator.

According to a police report, employers of Walters Paving, 5801 Southern Blvd., found one of their excavators with a window broken out Wednesday morning. After driving the vehicle a short distance, the motor began to smoke and shut off.

Upon looking at the motor, the oil plug was removed and the oil from the motor drained out causing engine damage.

Company officials estimated damage at $15,000.
