Artists market, Riverfest at B&O

Riverfest will take place Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the B&O Station grounds, 530 Mahoning Ave., near downtown.

The annual event includes educational and historic presentations and displays to raise awareness of the river and its environmental impact. Food and vendors also will be on hand.

Free canoe and kayak rides will be offered.

Visitors to Riverfest also can check out Artists of the Rust Belt’s annual Summer Market, which will be inside the B&O Station building. Hours are 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The summer market, now in its sixth year, will showcase the work of three dozen local and regional artists and artisans.

Available for purchase will be original paintings, blown glass, handcrafted jewelry, affordable prints, pottery, photography, live creative demonstrations, baked goods by Sadie’s Kitchen, Avalon pizza and desserts by Buffcakes.

Admission to the summer market is $1.
