African-American fest on Courthouse Square

The 30th annual African-American Festival will be Friday through Sunday on Courthouse Square, downtown.

The festival features amusement rides, games, food stands, arts and crafts, health screenings and voter registration and a full schedule of entertainment.

City officials will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon Friday.

Here is the schedule of entertainment:

FRIDAY

2:30 to 6:30 p.m.: 3 on 3 basketball tournament

4:30 to 6 p.m.: R&B and poetry, hosted by Eric and Tajunna Mills

7 to 8:30 p.m.: Howard and the Point Five Band

9 to 10:30 p.m.: Lakeside band

SATURDAY

Noon: Parade, with grand marshal Ronald P. Fowlis

Noon to 3 p.m.: Health Fair

1:30 to 7 p.m.: 3 on 3 basketball tournament

2 to 3 p.m.: Zumba

3 to 8:30 p.m.: Talent show

7 to 8:30 p.m.: Youngstown’s Total Package Band

9 to 10:30 p.m.: Baby Brother Band

SUNDAY

2 to 6 p.m.: 3 on 3 basketball tournament

3 to 7 p.m.: Le’Mon Howard and Co. present choirs. Bob Davis will deliver closing remarks, and Elder Franky Parker of Eastside Church of Christ will give the benediction

8 to 10 p.m.: Jazz band
