Boardman police investigating purse theft

BOARDMAN — Police are investigating the theft of a woman’s purse after she left it in a shopping cart.

According to a police report, a woman was loading her groceries from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave., into her car while talking on the phone and left the parking lot about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday. About 20 minutes later, she realized she didn’t have her purse.

Upon returning to Sam’s, surveillance video showed a teenager taking the purse from the shopping cart and entering a vehicle with an older female as the driver.
