Hubbard man faces child-endangering charge

HUBBARD — A man is charged with endangering children and seat-belt violations after a 3-year-old foster child in his care fell out of his moving van. The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

James R. Vavrinak, 45, was only driving about 5 miles an hour on his street when the unrestrained child fell out at a stop sign, he told police.

The child did not appear to be seriously hurt, an ambulance crew determined.
