2 long-term road closings announced for Mahoning County

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Engineer’s Office has announced two long-term road closings this summer.

The intersection of Mathews and Sheridan roads in Boardman will close for 45 days beginning June 16 for installation of a traffic circle, known as a roundabout.

Traffic for Mathews Road will be detoured along South Avenue, Lake Park Road, Midlothian Boulevard and state Route 170.

Traffic for Sheridan Road will be detoured along Johnston Place, state Route 170 and Wingate Road.

Lake Park Boulevard between Bandy and Oyster roads in Smith Township will close for 60 days beginning Monday for bridge painting and rehabilitation work.

Traffic will be detoured along Bandy, Alliance-Sebring and Oyster roads.
