Police were not releasing the name Sunday of a 40-year-old city man who was killed by a train.

The man was hit on the tracks under North Bridge Street at 2:30 p.m., a dispatcher confirmed.

He said the man was lying between the rails. The train operator saw him and blew the whistle. The man sat up and was struck.
