Dog activists will chain themselves
AUSTINTOWN
Legacy Dog Rescue members and other local residents will chain themselves to doghouses Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Family Video, 4385 Kirk Road, to bring attention to the plight of dogs who are kept on short chains by their owners their entire life.
Such dogs lack respect, love, exercise, social interaction and, sometimes, even basic nourishment. They live as prisoners, yet long to be pets.
A concession stand, bake sale and basket auction will be part of the event, which will help Legacy raise funds to help dogs in these circumstances.
