Higginses mark 50th with family dinner

LOWELLVILLE

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Higgins celebrated their golden anniversary April 26 with a dinner at Nicolinni’s Restaurant in Boardman, hosted by their children.

Their children are Stephen (Fran) Higgins of Boardman; Patrick (Tracy) Higgins of Salem; Timothy (Angela) Higgins of Lowellville; and Shannon Higgins of Gibsonia, Pa. Eleven grandchildren complete the family.

After serving in the Army, Mr. Higgins married the former Charlotte Scheckelhoff May 23, 1964, at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Higgins worked as a secretary for Struthers Metal for 18 years and retired in 2008.

Mr. Higgins worked as a foreman for Republic Steel, LTV and WCI Steel for 41 years in Youngstown and Warren. He retired in 2000.

The couple are members of Holy Rosary Church.
