Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport gets $448,767 grant

VIENNA

The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport will receive a grant to construct a new taxiway.

The $448,767 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration will be used to construct a 365-foot taxiway to provide access to aircraft hangars and meet federal design standards.

The money will also pay for a wind cone on Runway 14 at the airport, which will improve safety and provide airfield information to pilots.

“This is great news for the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport, and I am always going to be supportive of federal investments at the airport,” said Congressman Tim Ryan in a statement. “I congratulate Dan Dickten, the director of aviation at the airport, and the Western Reserve Port Authority for their work in securing this grant.”
