BOOK SALES

Salem Public Library will sell used books from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at St. Paul School gymnasium, 925 E. State St. The sale, sponsored by the Salem Public Library Memorial Fund Association, provides shoppers with a large variety of materials to choose from including fiction and nonfiction regular and large print books, children’s books, DVDs, magazines and more. CRAFT SHOWS

St. Jude Women’s Guild needs vendors for its annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the St. Jude Activity Center, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. The show features hand crafted and homemade items, a basket auction, bake sale, big prize raffle and a lunch counter with a varied menu including vegetable beef soup. TNR of Warren is looking for vendors for its 6th annual Holiday Craft Show, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren. FESTIVALS/FAIRS

Warren First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. NE, will host a Kings Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. There will be a number of tables with crafts and other items. Hot dogs, pepperoni rolls, gourmet cupcakes and more will be for sale. Proceeds will benefit SOPHIA (Stop One Place Help Is Available). PICNICS

The 82nd Annual Serbian Day Picnic will take place from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 39 Laird Ave., Youngstown. There will be traditional foods for sale including barbecued lamb and pork and cevepcici (grilled sausages). Live musical entertainment will be provided by Libby’s Tamburitzans and Velibor Drobnjak. SALES

Alzheimer Network will have a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church Auditorium, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield. Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, Damascus, will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 22 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 23. Fill a brown paper bag for $4 all day Aug. 22 and until noon Aug. 23. From noon until closing fill paper bags for $1. Larger items will be priced separately. Donations of good, working and usable condition items are being accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday through Aug. 15. No exercise equipment or large upholstered furniture will be accepted. Proceeds will support missions of United Methodist Women. A bake sale and lunch bar also will be available.

Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel NW (off Parkman Road at Rite Aid) , Warren, will have its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Buck a Bag Sale will take place the final hour of the sale, 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Lunch items and a bake sale will be available. A variety of items for all ages will be sold, including gently used clothing and linens, toys, books, sporting equipment, household and home decor items, holiday decorations and more. Proceeds of the sale will support the church food pantry, which helps more than 50 families in need each month under the direction of Shirley Frazier, social concerns chairwoman. Helping Hands Closet at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has gently used and new clothing for the entire family at low prices each Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During July there will be a sale of 20 percent off each purchase.

St. William Parish, 5431 Mahoning Ave. NW, Champion (Route 45 North of KSU), is sponsoring a large rummage sale in its social hall and classrooms from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8. Aug. 9 will be bag day from 8 a.m. to noon. A lunch counter will be available.

Victory Christian School, 2053 Pleasant Valley Road in Liberty, is having a vendor/garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Items will be offered as cash and carry. Proceeds benefit the school’s general operating fund.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for its 45th annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green. This year’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20. Vendors including home-based businesses, art and craft merchandise and nonprofit organizations are welcome.
