Warren Township gets grant for truck
WARREN
The Warren Township Fire Department has been awarded a $92,150 Vehicle Acquisition Grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
The township will acquire a brush truck with the money, said Warren Township Fire Chief Kenneth Schick. The department has three vehicles that it uses to fight brush fires, but they are 1962, 1963 and 1972 models and need to be replaced, Schick said.
He expects to have the new vehicle in a couple of months. The township will contribute $4,850 toward the purchase.
