PFS gets grant

YOUNGSTOWN

The Thomases Family Endowment Distribution Committee of Youngstown Area Jewish Federation awarded a $5,000 grant to Protestant Family Service for its Pathways to Stability program. Funds will be used to prevent disconnection or restore service.

The committee practices Tzedakah, the Hebrew work focusing on righteousness, charity and social action.

Mass schedule

Bishop Lawrence Persico of the Diocese of Erie, Pa., announced a new Mass schedule for Shenango Valley churches.

The schedule will begin Aug. 2 and 3.

Masses planned are 6 p.m. vigil Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Church of the Good Shepherd in West Middlesex, Pa.; 5:30 p.m. vigil Saturday and 8:15 and 11 a.m. Sunday at Note Dame Church in Hermitage, Pa.; 4 p.m. vigil Saturday and 7 and 11 a.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church in Farrell, Pa.; 4 p.m. vigil Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, Pa.; 4 p.m. vigil Saturday at St. Adalbert Church in Farrell, Pa.; 9:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Anthony in Sharon, Pa.; 4 p.m. vigil Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Bartholomew Church in Sharpsville, Pa.; 5:15 p.m. vigil Saturday and 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Church in Sharon; and 4 p.m. vigil Saturday at St. Stanislaus-Holy Trinity Church in Sharon.
