Christian Associates elect George Takash
HERMITAGE, PA.
George Takash is the new president of Christian Associates of Shenango Valley, succeeding the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Moore.
Takash, a member of Central Christian Church, has been active with Christian Associates for the past five years. A retired business owner, he and his wife, Pat, are active in many community charities.
The newly elected board set goals for the coming year.
Other officers are the Rev. Geraldine Williams of Ruth African Methodist Episcopal Church in Sharon, Pa., vice president; David Cole of Sharon First United Methodist Church, treasurer; and Lois Tamplin of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sharon, executive secretary.
The organization will continue its ecumenical vision for the community by bringing churches together for several events.
The campground ministry coordinated by member Steve Summersgill continues throughout the summer.
The group will participate in the Buhl Day Parade. A new clergy luncheon will be Oct. 29 at Montana’s Rib and Chop House. Also planned are New Year’s Day dinner, in conjunction with First Presbyterian of Sharon, a unity service in January and a choir festival in February.

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, will host inspirational speaker David Kohout of Talk Is Cheap Inc., from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
A movie and craft will be provided for young children.
There also will be an ice- cream social.
Decade on air
CANTON
AM 1060 Living Bread Radio is celebrating 10 years on the air. Living Bread Radio Inc., daytime talk radio, is a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to share the Catholic faith in Northeast Ohio.
Over the past 10 years, through the generosity of listeners, the station was able to increase its original 5,000-watt signal to 15,000 watts on AM 1060.
In 2012, Living Bread Radio was awarded a low-power FM signal that covers Youngstown and surrounding suburbs 24 hours a day. It now will broadcast events such as ordination Masses, Catholic conferences and special events.
An outdoor anniversary Mass will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 9 at St. Raphael Center, 4365 Fulton Drive NW. An open house will follow.
80th pilgrimage

The Sisters of St. Basil the Great will celebrate the 80th annual pilgrimage Aug. 30 and 31 in honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Mount St. Macrina, Uniontown, Pa.
The bus will leave at 8 a.m. Aug. 31 from Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church, 7754 South Ave., and return at 9 p.m. Cost is $15.

Revival planned
YOUNGSTOWN
New Beginnings Outreach Ministries, 2007 S. Schenley Ave., will host a revival at 7 p.m. next week featuring a music ministry.
Guest speakers will be Pastor Charles Johnson of Cedar Avenue Church of God in Sharon, Pa., on Wednesday; Pastor Terrence Harrison of Valley Baptist Church in Farrell, Pa., on Thursday; and Pastor Benny Hardin of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church on Friday.
